Looking for a new vehicle for the holidays? The new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for sale in Purcell, OK has many different configurations from which to choose and is perhaps the best truck that Chevrolet has ever made. It weighs about 450 pounds less than previous model and this helps to improve the performance of the truck significantly. You can choose from many different engines and trims to make your Silverado 1500 a truck that truly fits you. There is now a bigger wheelbase as well as more space in the interior for more cargo and increased passenger room.

The things most customers are looking for in a truck are that it is capable and has a high amount of functionality and versatility. With the Silverado 1500, Chevrolet wanted to make an excellent truck that is just the tool for the job no matter what you need to use your truck for.

Bed Highlights

With the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you will be getting the most cargo volume available no matter what bed length you choose to go with. The short box gives you 63 cubic feet of volume, which is around 20% more than the competition’s short box trucks. Chevy was able to do this by widening the bed by seven inches. You can also get a package called Chevrolet Accessories that gives you storage bins placed over your wheel wells for seven cubic feet of space for storage. It still allows you to put a 4×8 foot piece of plywood on the bed on the floor.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the Silverado still has a roll-formed, high-strength bed made of steel. The 2019 models actually use an even higher grade of steel so that the strength increases by 340 to 500 megapascals of pressure.

The Silverado will now come with 12 fixed tie-downs and they can withstand up to 500 pounds before you have to worry about them bending. There are nine more moveable tie-points so that you can easily work with whatever you may have as cargo. There will be an all-new power up/down tailgate that you will be able to control with the key fob, a button on the inside, or even by hand. There is now task lighting and a 120-volt outlet.

Larger, Lighter, More Agile

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is larger than it has been in the past. The wheelbase now measures up to 3.9 inches longer and the truck has an overall length that is 1.6 inches longer. This means you not only have more room for cargo but you can also have more room in the cab for passengers.

The Silverado weighs around 450 pounds less than the competition. The way Chevrolet was able to save some of the weight was by using different materials and using an advanced manufacturing process throughout. When you break it down, the body is about 88 pounds lighter than it was before. All of the doors, hood, and tailgate are made of aluminum and the fenders, roof, and bed are made of steel. The safety cage underneath the vehicle actually uses a combination of seven different grades of steel.

The steel frame is also around 88 pounds lighter than previous models but gives you 10% more rigidity. As a result of all these changes, there is an increase in strength, durability, and stiffness without the weight being increased.

The suspension also has mixed materials to help with the weight of the overall vehicle. The front short and long arm suspension are forged aluminum so that they are lighter and are able to provide better wheel alignment than before. The rear suspension with live-axle has also been reconfigured with composite second-stage springs on the LT trim that saves almost 12 pounds of weight on each side.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will have the option of six different engine and transmission combinations. These are to include the 5.3-liter V8 and the 6.2-liter V8 that have Dynamic Fuel Management that shuts off cylinders when they are not required. This gives you the ability to have great power from your engine but also have great efficiency.

There will also be a Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel available for you to choose. Note that both the 3.0-liter diesel engine and the 6.2-liter engine come paired with a Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission and also have start/stop technology so that you get the best fuel efficiency and great performance out of your vehicle.

Not “One Size Fits Most”

All of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models include designs that are a bit more modern but still have a throwback feel to the trucks of the 50s and 60s with the name “CHEVROLET” stamped on the tailgate. They also have dual exhausts and tires that can go up to 33 inches with customized preferences.

The bold modern look of the new truck is still very aerodynamic. The front grille has air curtains that closely resemble the ones in the sixth-generation of the Camaro. They help to reduce drag on the vehicle so that the air goes around the front wheel wells. There is a spoiler at the rear edge of the cab that helps to direct the air to the tailgate lip that helps to get rid of some of the drag in the bed. All of these combined actually give you close to 7% more efficiency.

More Functional, More Connected

The new features on the interior came from feedback from the customers. The main priorities were seat comfort, interior cargo storage, and easy to use controls.
All of the surfaces in the interior have been redesigned with comfort in mind. Even the High Country trim has been subjected to over 100,000 seat slide tests just to ensure that the seats are not only comfortable but stand up to the roughest of passengers.

Even More Dependable and Long Lasting

Most of the feedback that was received from truck owners is that they utilize their trucks for much more than just transportation. They use it for work and for daily life. Because of the importance of trucks to owners, Chevrolet wanted to make sure that they set high standards and reached them for the dependability and longevity of the 2019 Silverado. This has been done by doubling up on the metrics of the truck and conducting over seven million miles of real-world tests on the vehicles before the Silverado was available for sale to customers.
